Our Story

Our journey began in 2014, when ECC acquired a small medical waste management company to  prevent its closure and to expand our services. This acquisition enriched ECC with new waste management capabilities and marked the beginning of our expansion into the Pacific Northwest.

Shortly after, we realized the need to relocate from our initial site to the Port of Portland. Through our search, we discovered the State of Oregon’s Prospective Purchasing Agreement (PPA) program, which incentivizes the redevelopment of impaired properties by limiting liability for new purchasers. As a waste management and environmental consulting firm, this opportunity aligned perfectly with our mission.

ECC purchased a former gas station that had been out of service for some time and designed a PPA with the State of Oregon to address the location as a contaminated site.

Through the arduous process, ECC removed the underground storage tanks and fuel pump island, excavated and disposed of contaminated soil, conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring, and developed a construction management plan to guide future construction activities to ensure proper management of any remaining contaminated media.

Since, ECC has transformed a neglected property into our Portland Service Center, a valuable asset for the community, showcasing our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable growth.
